Australia’s team, Howard and Sons, won the 2015 Da Nang International
Fireworks Competition for its fireworks and musical performance at the
festival called, “The Symphony of Colours.”
The team, which was
ranked third during the 2009 competition, showcased a spectacular
performance and beat Poland’s Surex Firma Rodzinna on the closing night
to win the first prize on April 29.
Poland’s Surex Firma Rodzinna, which took part in the competition for the first time, was ranked second.
Hosts
Da Nang-Vietnam and the United States’ team—Pyrotecnico—who had
performed on the first night on April 28, tied for the third prize.
Newcomer South Africa was awarded the encouragement prize by the organising committee at the closing ceremony.
The competition had attracted teams from five continents, namely South Africa, the United States, Australia, Poland and Vietnam.
In
2013, the US team Melrose Pyrotechnics had bagged the first spot.
Canada’s Davis Whysall took the top prize in 2008, while China’s Liuyang
Dancing won in 2009. France’s Jacques Couturier Organisation had won in
2010, and Italy’s Parente had won twice in 2011 and 2012.-VNA
