Theoretical matters and practical experiences serving national
development and defence continue catching Vietnamese and Cuban
officials’ concerns during their political consultation and meetings in
Havana, Cuba from March 2-5.
These events took place during
Deputy Foreign Minister Ho Xuan Son’s visit to Cuba at the
invitation of the Cuban Foreign Ministry.
Son held talks with
Cuban First Deputy FM Marcelino Medina and met with the Cuban FM, the
Head of the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee Commission for
External Relations, and the Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment.
The
officials have kept each other informed of their countries’ current
situations, discussed specific measures to realise common perceptions
and reached agreements to deepen bilateral wide-ranging ties.
They
agreed to closely coordinate in organising future visits by
high-ranking delegations and making practical economic cooperation in
the medium and long terms.
Deputy FM Son and Cuban officials exchanged views on international and regional issues of mutual concern.
They
also agreed to enhance coordination and mutual support at international
organisations and multilateral forums such as the UN, the World Trade
Organisation and the Non Aligned Movement to protect the two countries
legitimate interest s and heighten their position on the world stage.-VNA
