The Canberra Times on February 25 published a series of articles on
Vietnam – Australia relations on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of
diplomatic ties between the two countries.
Vietnamese
Ambassador to Australia Hoang Vinh Thanh affirmed in his article that
Vietnam and Australia have succeeded in promoting bilateral economic
and political relations, and tightened the association between the two
peoples over the past four decades.
He expressed his
belief that the friendly relations between the two countries will see
stronger growth in the coming time, contributing to each side’s
prosperity and security, as well as regional peace and stability.
In another article, Professor Carl Thayler, a leading expert on Vietnam
and Southeast Asia at the Australian Defence Academy, said that the two
countries have mutually benefited from their foreign policies,
including environmental protection, climate change, natural calamity
prevention, anti-terrorism, anti-weapons of mass destruction
