Party Secretary General Nguyen Phu Trong has asked the southern
province of Binh Phuoc to tap its forest and mineral resources
potential, eliminate corruption and wasteful management – and to unite
residents for further socio-economic development.
Trong applauded Binh Phuoc’s efforts to reduce the number of poor
households to 5.4 percent and improve lives of residents in all areas.
The province generated an economic growth of about 12.26 percent between
2011 and 2013. Even during the difficult year of 2012, it paid 3,900
billion VND to the State budget.
The Party leader
noted that the province has actively implemented the Resolutions of
the Party Central Committee’s 4th meeting on strengthening the Party
and the 11th National Party Congress through detailed and practical
plans of action, earning initial positive outcomes.
He instructed the province to continue implementing these guidelines, making it a regular and long-term political task.
Earlier during the day, he visited soldiers at Army Corp 16 and
residents at Tan Lap commune in Dong Phu district, one of the 16
locations in the province which are being upgraded following the
government’s new model for rural areas.-VNA
