Lao Prime Minister Thongsing Thammavong paid an official visit to
Brunei from March 2-3 to enhance their traditional friendy
relationship and tighten cooperation between the two countries.
During the visit, which was made at the invitation of Brunei’s
King Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, the two sides exchanged opinions on
the orientation and schedule of cooperation in the time to come, as well
as measures to expand their cooperative ties in various fields.
They spoke highly their bilateral and multilateral cooperation within
the ASEAN framework, as well as at international forums.
The Lao leader expressed his gratitude to the Government and people of
Brunei for their support and assistance to Laos’ socio-economic
development.
A Memorandum of Understanding was
signed during the visit, aimed at fostering cooperation between the Lao
People’s Revolutionary Youth Union and Brunei ’s Ministry of Culture,
Youth and Sports.
The two countries are preparing to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their diplomatic ties (July 23, 1993-2013).-VNA
