Two Lao men were arrested in the border area in the central province
of Quang Tri on March 31 for trying to smuggle 10,000 illegal pills into
Vietnam.
Kham Phan, 38, and Bun Ma, 34, both from Savannakhet
province, were detained by Quang Tri border officers and Lao police
while preparing to illegally cross the border with the drugs.
They admitted purchasing the drugs in the Lao capital, Vientiane, and planned to transport them to Vietnamese dealers for sale.
The two men and the exhibits were handed to Lao police for further investigation.
