Vice Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City’s Party Committee Nguyen Van Dua gave
a reception to a delegation of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (
CPI – M) led by its Politburo member M.A Baby, in Ho Chi Minh City on
March 28.
The HCM City official affirmed the
gratitude of Vietnamese people in general and people of the city in
particular for the support of India , especially the CPI -M, in
their struggling for national liberation, building and development.
Dua expressed his confidence that the working visit of the CPI –M
will help further the relations between Ho Chi Minh City and India
in fields of trade, education, and science and technology.
In reply, Baby stressed the traditional deep ties between the two
countries, adding that the CPI -M and the Communist Party of Vietnam
should continue to foster this comprehensive cooperation tie.
He expressed hope that bilateral trade will be given a boost by the
East – West highway connecting five countries including Vietnam and
India , as well as the opening of a direct flight route between the two
countries. Vietnam and India are aiming for 7 billion USD in two
way trade by 2015.-VNA
