VietNamNet Bridge – A group of woodmen were found dead at the forest in the border between Vietnam’s Quang Binh province and Laos’ Xavanakhet province.
According to the local authorities, a group of eight woodmen went into the forest to find aloes wood. While they were building tents in the forest to find aloes wood, they were arrested by a group of armed men for ransom.
Taking advantage of the night, three woodmen fled. When these people ran for about 100 meters from the site, they heard several gunshots. When they returned, they found the five woodmen had been shot dead. All of the victims are residents of Quang Minh commune, Quang Trach district, Quang Binh province.
Too scared, the three survivors found their way home to report to the police and informed the families of victims. In the afternoon of March 27, the bodies were carried home for burial.
The local authorities are investigating the case.
