The disease has spread to all 15 districts, towns, and cities in the province. Of them, the districts of Buon Don, Ea Kar, and Buon Ma Thuot City have been hardest hit by the disease.

More than 500 cases of fever have been reported in each locality.

The province has allocated VND2.37 billion (US$114,000) from its budget to implement preventive measures against the disease.

Dengue Fever is accompanied by high fever, intense headache, and severe aches and pains lasting up to a week or more. The most severe clinical form is Dengue Haemorrhagic Fever (DHF).

In Viet Nam, the fever, carried by Aedes mosquitoes, peaks in the hot rainy months of July and August. There is no vaccine or medicine against the ailment.
