National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung has requested Party
Committees at all levels to make it easier for every citizen to
contribute their opinions on the draft amendments to the 1992
Constitution.

In an urgent public letter, No. 250/UBDTSDHP, signed on March 6, Hung,
who is also Chairman of the Committee for Drafting Amendments to the
1992 Constitution, asked local authorities to send to each household
copies of the original and drafted amendments of the Constitution,
within this month, to make it easier for every citizen to express their
ideas. All the opinions from the masses must be collected in an honest
and objective manner.

Agencies and organisations
nationwide need to hold seminars and talks for their officials and
employees to express their opinions on the draft amendments. Party and
social organisations at all levels must also acquire suggestions from
their members.

Regarding the deadline for
collecting feedback, the letter said people’s feedback collected between
January 2 and March 31 this year will be submitted to the NA for
consideration in its fifth session this May, with approval coming in the
sixth session in October.

After March 31 until
September 30, citizens are still able to make their recommendations on
the draft revised Constitution. Organisations and localities are
responsible for collecting the opinions and submitting them to the
committee.-VNA
