The hotline 086.900.0660 is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including holidays.

Those who discover polluting waste discharge and environmental pollution or degradation incidents are advised to call the hotline immediately so that the VEA can take prompt action.

The VEA said that the information received through the hotline will be referred to the relevant environmental agencies for verification and feedback will be provided as soon as possible.

The launch of the hotline came after Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Tran Hong Ha issued a directive last month on stepping up the receipt and handling of information from the public on environmental pollution.

The directive stated that environmental pollution has been on the rise throughout the country but the authorities have failed to promptly deal with any information provided by individuals and organisations.
