The national forest inventory project will be carried out across
the country from June 1, 2013 to December 31, 2016 , according to the
Office of Government.
The move aims to provide accurate,
up-to-date information about the size, distribution, composition and
conditions of the forests and woodlands for planning, protection and
development of forests as well as land allocation.
It will also help establish a forest management database on forests and land for forest cultivation.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development is responsible for
implementing this project, said the Office of Government.-VNA
