The afforestation campaign “For a green Vietnam 2013” was launched at
Ben En National Park in central Thanh Hoa province on March 16-17.
The event was jointly held by Canon Vietnam Co., Ltd, the
provincial authorities and the national park, and saw the participation
of 120 students and 100 Canon volunteers.
At the ceremony,
General Director of Canon Vietnam Soma Katsuyoshi expressed his hope
that the activity will improve the Vietnamese youth’s awareness of
environmental protection and the significant role of forests.
During the three years implementing the campaign in the park, the total
area of newly planted forest has reached 50 hectares.-VNA
