Vietnamese women CEOs among Forbes top achievers
HA NOI (VNS)— Mai Kieu Lien, Chairwoman and CEO of Viet Nam Dairy Products JSC (Vinamilk) and Pham Thi Viet Nga, Chairwoman of DHG Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Co, Ltd were listed on Forbes Asia’s Women in the Mix, 2013: The year’s Top 50 for Achievement in Business.
Forbes commented that, as one of the most profitable brands in Viet Nam and a blue chip on the local stock exchange, Vinamilk has delivered consistent growth in revenue and profit since its stock market listing in 2006. While this year was difficult for most companies in Viet Nam, Vinamilk booked a 23 per cent rise in 2012 sales to US$1.3 billion, while net profit jumped nearly 40 per cent to $280 million. The US business magazine also praised Nga for her outstanding achievements since she joined DHG in 1998 as general director and transformed what was a merger of several small, ailing State-owned enterprises on the verge of bankruptcy into the country’s biggest publicly traded drug company.-VNS
