Vietnam has shipped 906,173 tonnes of rice, worth almost 411 million
USD, since the beginning of this year, according to the Vietnam Food
Association.
At present, the prices of dry unhusked
rice in the Mekong Delta range from 5,150 VND (0.25 USD) to 5,450 VND
(0.26 USD) per kilo.
According to the Ministry of
Industry and Trade, rice export to some major markets in Africa,
including Ivory Coast, Ghana and Senegal is facing
difficulties due to severe competitions from India and Thailand.-VNA
