India imports more tra fish as popularity soars
HA NOI (VNS) — Vietnamese tra fish has become more popular in India, resulting in increasing export turnover of the country’s product to the market.
According the General Department of Customs, Viet Nam’s tra fish exports to India hit US$7.69 million in 2012, up 32 per cent.
Over the past eight months, the figure reached $7.67 million, compared to $5.903 million in the same period last year.
The Viet Nam Association of Seafood Exporters and Processors (VASEP) said that India wants to learn from Viet Nam’s experience in raising tra fish output, as it has a plan to become one of the world’s five leading seafood producers. — VNS
