The Hanoi People’s Committee on March 6 launched an action programme for
consumer rights in response to the “World Consumer Rights Day” (March
15).
The programme’s highlight is a month-long campaign promoting Vietnamese goods.
Taking part in the campaign, major retailers such as Hapro, Big C,
Coopmart and Intimex supermarket chains, and Pico electronics
supermarket chain have set up a total of 105 retail outlets across the
city with a lot of attractive promotions on offer.
On
this occasion, the programme’s organisation board will put into service
the website hangvietchinhhang.vn that provides consumers with necessary
information about Vietnamese products.
As part of the programme, communications activities will be organised to popularise the Law on Consumer Rights Protection.
Hanoi has taken the lead in improving public’s awareness of
consumers’ rights as well as in building a consumption culture.
The World Consumer Rights Day was established in 1983 to promote the
basic rights of consumers everywhere. Every year on March 15, the
global consumer movement unites around a common theme to deliver an
exciting array of campaigning activities.
This year’s World Consumer Rights Day takes the theme “ Consumer Justice Now”.-VNA
