The southernmost province of Ca Mau saw a significant economic growth in
the first half of 2014, with several important goals exceeding the set
targets.
According to Chairman of the provincial
People’s Committee Pham Thanh Tuoi, in the period, aquatic product yield
recorded a year-on-year rise of 15 percent reaching 200,000 tonnes,
while export activities earned nearly 500 million USD.
Industrial production hit nearly 7 trillion VND (329 million USD), 21 percent higher than the set target.
The locality has set to achieve an aquatic product yield of 420,000
tonnes, a farm produce output of 550,000 tonnes, a total export value of
1.1 billion USD, social investment of 12 trillion VND (564 million
USD), and State budget collection of 5 trillion VND (235 million USD)
this year.
It has so far implemented a lot of
measures and preferential policies to support local businesses’
restructuring and difficulty-handling efforts and boost trade and
investment promotion programmes.-VNA
