The export of agro-forestry and fishery products in the first four
months of this year has brought in 8.67 billion USD, up 0.4 percent
year-on-year, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural
Development.
The export value of the major farm
products of rice, coffee, rubber, tea, pepper and cashew reached 4.54
billion USD in the reviewed period. Among them, four products reaped
over 1 billion USD, which are rice (1.04 billion USD), coffee (1.3
billion USD), seafood (1.7 billion USD), and wood and wood products (1.6
billion USD).
Though tea export volume falls by 3.2
percent compared to the same period last year, its value saw a 4 percent
year-on-year rise, reaching 58 million USD.
Pakistan
is the largest tea importer, accounting 14.4 percent of the total export
value while the United Arab Emirates’ tea import from Vietnam increased
sharply, seeing a 2.3-fold rise year-on-year.-VNA
