HÀ NỘI — Tam Đảo in the northern province of Vĩnh Phúc has been recognised as a National Tourist Site under a decision by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Tam Đảo has been playing a key role in the tourism development strategy of Vĩnh Phúc.
In a project to develop Tam Đảo tourism by 2025, the province aims to turn the site into an unique tourism township by diversifying its tourism products, increasing accommodation facilities, completing transport infrastructure, and developing human resources for the field.
The recognition on January 25 of the site is expected to create a chance for Vĩnh Phúc to further promote its tourism and attract more investment in the area, thus turning tourism into a spearhead economic sector.
Tam Đảo national tourism site has a total area of 10,723ha, including the administrative subdivision of Tam Đảo National Park (5,399ha), the foothills of Tam Đảo Mountain (over 4,561ha), the Tây Thiên religious site (477ha) and the Tam Đảo tourist area (284ha).
Located about 60km from Hà Nội and over 40km from Nội Bài International Airport, the site is well-known as a special cultural and spiritual tourism site and resort area.
It is a wonderful destination with fresh, pure and cool air, and beautiful scenery. The weather is cool all year round with an average temperature of 20-22°C and it may change through four seasons in a day.
Earlier, Vĩnh Phúc approved a project on tourism development in Tam Đảo to 2025, focusing on specific orientations for the development of forms of tourism that are the strengths of Tam Đảo-Tây Thiên.
The national tourist area is expected to become an international tourist site too, featuring a tourist space with a close connection with neighbouring areas.
Many investors have focused on the fields of trade, tourism, entertainment, and real estate, turning this area into a new investment attraction, especially in green and clean industry.
The recognition of the Tam Đảo national tourist site offers an opportunity for the central agencies and Vĩnh Phúc to continue their investment in improving the quality of tourism services and comprehensive development of Tam Đảo District. — VNS
