Vietnamese junior pianist recognised in Italy
HA NOI (VNS)- Vietnamese Nguyen Viet Trung is among three junior competitors to win a place at the Piano Academy Eppan, in South Tirol, Italy, known traditionally as the home of famous master classes since the 1950s.
Trung was among eight young talents from around the world who were invited to perform at the Junior Academy Eppan in Italy. After attending a three-day master class with professor Andrea Bonatta, the artists performed in two public concerts in the Raiffeisen Forum Lanserhaus.

Each of the successful pianists was awarded 1,000 euros from the City of Eppan.
Trung, 16 who currently lives and studies in Warsaw has made a name for himself in both Viet Nam and internationally. He has won several international awards in Poland during his 10 years of piano studies there including first prize in the Emmy Alberg competition in Lodz, a special prize in the Chopin competition in Mazowiecki as well as the Golden Note for the best performer of Mozart compositions.
In 2008, he took second place against pianists three to four years older in an international competition in Plock named for Ludwik Stefanski and Halina Czerny Stefanska.
The Piano Academy Eppan is an initiative of the Culture Contact Eppan, supported by the City of Eppan and several sponsors. It takes place in co-operation with the Ettlingen International Competition for Young Pianists. – VNS
