Sunday market opens in capital
HA NOI (VNS)– A new market that aims to bring locals and expats together will open on Sundays in the capital city.
The market, organised by Hanoi Cooking Centre (HCC), is expected to provide an opportunity for creative people to showcase their products, many of which are not available elsewhere in Ha Noi.
“There are many expats and Vietnamese in Ha Noi starting up businesses that are not ready to open shop fronts. This is an opportunity for them to test the market,” said Tracey Lister, HCC director and market organiser.
“For customers it is an opportunity to be exposed to unique items that are not available widely in Ha Noi. While a number of stall holders donate 10 per cent of sales to charities,” she said, adding that she hoped it would be a fun day for both sellers and customers at her venue.
New products at the market include jewellery, natural gemstones, clothing, toys, handicraft, books and fashion accessories such as bags.
The market, which is expected to be organised on the second Sunday every month, will open at 44 Chau Long Street, Ba Dinh District, from 10am-3pm. – VNS
