Singaporean to create experimentalist storm
Dennis Tan – one of Singapore’s most electrifying experimental sound artists, together with sound wizard Vu Nhat Tan and the one-man band Nguyen Van Thao, will create a “music storm” at Manzi Art Space tonight.
Dealing with universal themes and the communication between individuals and society, Tan’s work is conceptual and influenced by his personal experiences. The impulse to develop sound results from his interest in the sound and the material in the literal sense. In the creation of sound bodies, the inclusion of environment, perception and communication patterns play a formative role.
As an experimentalist, Tan has performed in Germany, Finland, Poland, Estonia, Bangkok and Singapore. He currently has been conducting electronics workshops in Bangkok, Leipzig and Singapore.
His performance will start at 8.15pm at 14 Phan Huy Ich Street. Tickets cost VND150,000 on the door.-VNS
