Ha Tinh festival to attract more than 30 folk song clubs
HA TINH (VNS)— The second Ha Tinh folk song festival will be held in central Ha Tinh Province from August 17-19.
The vi dam festival will feature the participation of more than 30 folk song clubs from the central provinces of Nghe An and Ha Tinh.
According to the organising committee, the festival aims to preserve and develop the original values of this unique folk singing tradition.
Vi dam singing was composed by local people from Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces while performing farming work in the rice fields. People sing it to express their love for their soulmates, family, and the country.
It derives from spoken repartee and becomes popular throughout the central provinces. However, it is appreciated nation-wide because its tunes are soft, melodious, and romantic. It includes short and concise repartee.-VNS
