BERLIN (VNS) — A music gala put together by formers students of the Ha Noi Conservatory of Music, the first of its kind, will be held at Viet House in Berlin on Saturday.
“More than one hundred artists and their relatives, from Canada, Hungary, Belgium, the UK, the Czech Republic, Austria, and Poland, have registered to join the gala,” said organiser Tran Phuong Hoa.
The event is being held by an overseas group of former students who graduated from the Ha Noi Conservatory of Music, now the Viet Nam National Academy of Music (VNAM).
It aims to connect old schoolmates to recall old memories, exchange views on daily life and most importantly, to allow actors from around the world to perform music and arts, said Hoa.
“We plan to promote Vietnamese music to the world while inspiring young locals with traditional music passion,” she said.
Phan Quan, a who settled in Berlin nearly 20 years ago, said he and his family were excited to be taking part in the gala because it would be a chance for us to meet friends from other countries, and enjoy traditional Vietnamese music performed by artists from VNAM.
“We are ready to help the organisers to hold an event like this twice a year,” said Quan.
However, she said that a number of famous artists were getting old and lived far away, so it would be difficult for them to take part in the gala.
“Despite many difficulties, we plan to organise these events once or twice a year in different countries to meet and play music together,” Hoa said. — VNS
