Film week celebrates Vietnamese cinema
HA NOI(VNS) — Mobile cinema groups celebrate the 60th anniversary of Viet Nam’s revolutionary cinema by showing several award-winning films, including Dem Hoi Long Tri (Long Tri Festive Night), Bao Gio Cho Den Thang 10 (When the Tenth Month Comes) and Ve Noi Gio Cat (Back to the Land of Wind and Sand).
Several documentaries were also screened, such as Vai Hinh Anh Ve Doi Hoat Dong Cua Ho Chu Tich (Images of the Life and Career of President Ho), Nuoc Ve Bac Hung Hai (Water Comes to Bac Hung Hai) and Dien Bien Phu.
Besides the mobile screenings, the weeklong event also introduces other revolutionary cinema classics at the Ngoc Khanh Cinema in Ha Noi. These included Canh Dong Hoang (Wild Field), Mui Co Chay (Scent of Burning Grass), Doi Cat (Life of Sand), Chung Mot Dong Song (Sharing the Same River) and Canh Dong Bat Tan (Floating Lives).
The Cinema Department will also host a grand celebration at the Ha Noi Opera House on Thursday, where a documentary entitled Nhung Chang Duong Dien Anh Cach Mang Viet Nam (Development Stages of Vietnamese Revolutionary Cinema) will be shown. — VNS
