Display of lacquer paintings on show at national museum
HA NOI (VNS)— Traditional Son Ta (Vietnamese traditional lacquer) paintings are on display at the Viet Nam National Fine Arts Museum.
It’s a debut for 38 artists of different ages with their own creative and artistic styles.
Traditional lacquer painting is time consuming, requiring many layers of lacquer before it is polished. Other materials often used with lacquer are gold, silver, oyster shells, sand and egg shell. — VNS
