Designs leave lasting impression

HA NOI (VNS )– The famed impressionism of French painting in the 19th century is the inspiration for the Ha Noi-based fashion designer Nguyen Dieu Huyen latest collection to be presented in a fashion show in Ha Noi on Sunday night.

Entitled Le Tepms des Fleurs (The Time of Flowers), the fashion show will kick-off the France-Viet Nam Year in Viet Nam, which features a wide range of activities in various areas such as economics, education, research, culture, arts, tourism, sports, architecture, and fashion.

According to the designer, who is currently a lecturer at the Department of Fashion of the University of Industrial Fine Arts, her creations present trendy baroque patterns as well as flower prints, using light and colourful shades.

Additionally, she has applied the famous Japanese silk dyeing technique yuzen and a handy painting technique to produce her unique creations.

The fashion show will also showcase a collection by young designer Phuong Anh, whose creations use the three colours of French national flag: dark blue, white and red.

Held in the courtyard of the French Embassy in Ha Noi, the show will also gather a French-citizen production crew, including the fashion director Henry Hubert, DJ Fabien Bourgeois and pianist Marc Vibert.

Vietnamese diva My Linh will perform the French song Je T’aime and her own composition Gui Anh (To You) at the event.

The Le Tepms des Fleurs show will be screened on the FTV channel, which broadcasts in more than 200 countries. – VNS
