City welcomes young dancers
HCM CITY (VNS) — More than 200 young Vietnamese dancers will perform in the show 5, 6, 7, 8! at the HCM City Youth Cultural House today and tomorrow.
The show, organised by Dancenter, will include 24 performances featuring several dance genres, including jazz, hip hop, ballet, belly dance and contemporary.
All routines, including The 7 Sins, 5 Senses, H2O and 911, reflect the dancers’ attitudes toward life.
The routines were created by local and foreign choreographers, including John Huy Tran and Rosie Pollard, choreographers of the Vietnamese version of the US TV dance show So You Think You Can Dance, and Linh Rateau, joint art director of this year’s Duyen Dang Viet Nam (Charming Vietnam).
The show will feature popular dancers from local dance contests like Nguyen Nhat Anh, winner of Nhay Cung Dam Me (Dance with Passion), and Lam Vinh Hai, winner of the first season of So You Think You Can Dance. They will perform with dancers from the Urban Dance Group, which organised the competition.
The performances are at 7.30pm tonight and 3pm tomorrow. The cultural house is at 4 Pham Ngoc Thach Street, District 1.
