800 to vie for dance prize

HA NOI (VNS) — Floor Killer, the fourth Viet Nam recreational dance championship, will be held this weekend in Ha Noi. About 800 contestants from Viet Nam and overseas are expected to take part.
The contest, held by Big Toe with sponsorship from the Vietnamese Recreational and Electronic Sport Association, is an annual tournament for professionals and amateurs.
The dancers will compete in six hip-hop styles – Breaking, Hip Hop, Locking, Popping, Waacking – and House.
Teams and individuals will compete in knock-out competitions starting tomorrow at Savico Megamall, 7 Nguyen Van Linh, Long Bien District, Ha Noi.
This year, loads of enthusiastic youth are expected, including the champions from Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore and Germany.
Germans Uwe Donaubauer and Louis Becker have participated in numerous competitions in Europe and Asia. They won the German Battle of the Year in 2013.
Established in 1992, Big Toe has hundreds of members and is recognised as the top hip-hop dance troupe in Viet Nam. — VNS
