Lacuna Coin arrives in Ho Chi Minh City on July 18
Lacuna Coin, a six-member Italian rock band, wowed Ho Chi Minh City audiences on Saturday night, July 20, with their performance on the finale of the “Tiger Translate Battle of The Bands 2013” contest.
The band performed with the contest’s winner, Parasite — a six-member rock band from HCMC, at the Crescent Resident zone in District 7’s Phu My Hung Urban Area.
Lacuna Coil is a familiar name with worldwide fans of Gothic Metal rock. Formed in 1994 in Milan, Italy, the group was initially named “Sleeping of Right”.
In 1996, it changed some members and sent two demos to several record companies in Europe with a new name, Ethereal. In 1997, the band signed a contract with US-based Century Media Records and launched its first product in 1998 with the name Lacuna Coil.
The current members of Lacuna Coil are: singer Cristina Scabbia (lead vocals, joining the band from 1996), Andrea Ferro (male voice, joining the band from 1994), Cristiano “Pizza” Migliore (guitarist, from 1998), Marco “Maus” Biazzi (guitarist, from 1999), Marco Coti Zelati (keyboard, from 1994) and Cristiano “Criz” Mozzati (drummer, percussion, from 1998).
Their latest album “Dark Adrenaline” released last year has made it to the 15th place in the Billboard 200 chart.
