VietNamNet Bridge – The police of Mong Cai City of Quang Ninh Province on June 26 rescued two Hre women who were being trafficked to China and sent them back home in Quang Ngai.

The two victims are Pham Thi Son, 17 and Pham Thi The, 20, from Ma Nghit village, Ba Cung commune, Ba To mountainous district of Quang Ngai province.
According to initial investigation of Mong Cai Police, Lu Van Duong, 26, a man from Ky Son district of Nghe An province, was enticed by his acquaintance, a woman who married a Chinese man and now lives in China, to take young girls to China for sale.
“She promised to give me VND20 million ($1,000) for each girl,” confessed Duong.
On June 22, when Duong was taking two ethnic minority girls to the border city of Mong Cai, he was arrested for human trafficking. Mong Cai City Police verified the case and sent the two girls back to their home in Quang Ngai.
Duong confessed that on June 17, he visited his girlfriend’s home in Ba Cung commune, Ba To district. On this occasion, he enticed two ethnic minority girls to go with him to the north to work for litchi farms, with high wages. The two girls agreed and followed Duong.
On the way, the girls suspected of being cheated so they wanted to return home but Duong threatened and beat them brutally.
The police of Quang Ngai and Mong Cai City are further investigating the case.
