Water pine tree known by the scientific name Glyptostrobus pensilis
will be grown on a large scale for the first time in the Central
Highlands province of Dak Lak as a measure to develop the
precious and rare species.

The province plans to
grow 100 grafted water pines in the Ea Ral and Trap K’Sor water pine
reserves in Ea H’Leo and Krong Nang districts in this rainy season.

The water pine is a precious and rare flora species. There remain only
250 trees in the world, and all are recorded in the two Vietnamese
