The Royal Thai Police is ready to play host to the ASEAN National Police
Chiefs Conference, where discussions on transnational crime suppression
will be tabled.
National Police Chief Pol. Gen. Adul
Saengsingkaew, on February 18, announced Thailand’s readiness to
host the 33rd ASEAN National Police Chiefs Conference during February
18-22.
The National Police Chief said the meeting, held
in Pattaya City, Chon Buri Province, will focus on
cooperation related to the suppression of transnational crimes,
including drug and arms trade, human trafficking, terrorism and
cybercrime.
He added the conference sees the
participation of national police chiefs and representatives from 10
ASEAN nations as well as from 5 major partner countries, which are
China, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Australia and New
Zealand.
Pol. Gen. Adul affirmed that the Royal Thai
Police is ready in hosting and assuring safety of all participants,
while stating that continued violence in Thailand’s restive south
will not shake international confidence in the country.-VNA
