The Vietnam Athletics Federation (VAF) has announced that Do Thi Thao
will be the only Vietnamese athlete to compete at the upcoming Asian
Grand Prix in Thailand.
Thao will take part in the women’s 800m event.
Earlier, the Asian Athletics Association invited six Vietnamese
athletes to compete but the VAF decided to choose only three athletes,
Vu Thi Huong (women’s 100m), Duong Thi Viet Anh (women’s high jump) and
Thao for the event.
However, Huong and Anh haven’t been recovered from injuries so they will not travel to the event.
The tournament’s first meet takes place in Bangkok, Thailand, on May
4, followed by Chonburi on May 8 and finishing in Colombo, Sri Lanka on
