Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and his Australian counterpart Tony
Abbott have agreed to build a joint action plan for realising the
declaration on strengthening the Vietnam-Australia Comprehensive
Strategic Partnership in the 2015-17 period.
The
two PMs had a telephone conversation on April 1, during which they
concurred to assign the two Foreign Ministries to coordinate with one
another in implementing the outcomes of PM Dung’s visit to Australia
on March 17-18.
The Vietnamese PM thanked
Australia for its warm welcome during his visit. He reiterated his
proposal that Australia complete all procedures to allow Vietnamese
agricultural products to be imported to Australia .
He suggested Australia set up an agency in Vietnam for inspecting
food before export to Australia to ensure quality.
The Australian PM agreed with his counterpart’s proposal, reaffirming
his wish to enhance bilateral trade and investment partnership.
He said he will direct Australian authorised agencies to realise Vietnam ’s suggestion.
The Australian PM also said he hopes more Vietnamese farm produce would be sold in the Australian market in the coming time.-VNA
