Seven areas of technology are the focus of the Second Senior Official’s
Meeting (SOM II) of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum, which
is taking place in Surabaya, Indonesia, from April 6-19.
They are agriculture and food security, energy, defense, technology,
information and communication technology (ICT), transportation,
healthcare and medicine, Indonesia ’s Research and Technology
Minister Gusti Muhammad Hatta said on April 9.
The SOM- APEC II has the theme “Policy Partnership on Science Technology and Innovation” (PPSTI).
Technology helps improve productivity, services, safety and defense, according to the host.-VNA
