A high-ranking delegation from central Ha Tinh province led by Secretary
of the provincial Party’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Binh visited Laos’
capital city of Vientiane on April 7 on the occasion of the
country’s traditional Bunpimay festival.
At a meeting
with Vientiane Vice Mayor Saithong Keoduangdy, Binh, who is also
Chairman of the provincial People’s Council, extended his best wishes to
the people of Laos in general and Vientiane in particular on the
festival.
He briefed his host on Ha Tinh’s socio-economic
performance and its cooperation with the Lao provinces of Kham Muon,
Savannakhet and Boli Khamsay.
Binh described
personnel training as a highlight in Ha Tinh’s cooperation with central
Lao provinces, noting that more than 500 Lao students have studied at
the Ha Tinh University.
Host and guest also touched
upon ways to support each side’s enterprises and expressed their hopes
for further cooperation between the two localities in the coming time.
Saithong Keoduangdy thanked Ha Tinh for its
assistance to Vientiane over the past time, saying that despite
difficulties, the city’s gross domestic product (GDP) still grew 12
percent last year.-VNA
