Feature film “Have a last life in Vietnam”, telling a true story of a
Japanese woman who found a new life in Vietnam at the age of 82, began
shooting in Hanoi on November 30 as the first Japanese-Vietnamese joint
production.

The film is directed by Kabuki Omori
and Tat Binh and has Japanese renowned actress Keiko Matsuzaka to play
the starring role. Its scenes will be shot in the capital Hanoi, and the
northern provinces of Hoa Binh and Ninh Binh, Vietnam.

Based on an autobiographical novel by Miyuki Komatsu, the story is
about a Japanese teacher Shaso Misao and her 82-year-old mother.

Shaso Misao, 60, had come to Vietnam to teach Japanese, but could not
stop thinking about her mother, who has dementia, living alone in
Japan. She has convinced her mother, Sasho Shizue, to live with her in
Hanoi.

They together found a whole new life in
the heart of the Hanoi Old Quarter in front of the Cheo Theatre, where
local traditional musicals are performed.

The film is expected to see its last scene’s shooting on December 31, 2015.-VNA
