The current visit to Vietnam by a delegation of the Nicaraguan
Sandinista National Liberation Front (FSLN) aims to boost relations
between the two countries as well as cooperation between the Communist
Party of Vietnam (CPV) and the Nicaraguan party.

“Increasing
delegation visits at all levels is important to cooperation between the
two parties,” FSLN’s Foreign Relations Secretary Jacinto Suarez said
during an interview granted to Vietnam News Agency.

Jacinto
Suarez, who is also Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of
Nicaragua’s National Assembly, added that visit exchange helps promote
the sharing of information, theory and experience on developmental
issues in the new situation as well as issues of mutual concern between
the two parties.

FSLN and CPV have enjoyed a time-honoured relationship that has gone through 50 years, the visiting official said.

He
expressed his impression with robustly growing Vietnam where
people are leading a happy and prosperous life, suggesting the two
countries defining agriculture and science-technology as potential
cooperation areas in the future.

“ Vietnam holds technologies
that we do not, while Nicaragua possesses large, fertile land.
Therefore I see a lot of prospects for cooperation,” he affirmed.

During
their visit to Vietnam from April 2-6, the FSLN officials had talks
with a CPV delegation headed by Hoang Binh Quan, Head of CPV Central
Committee’s Commission for External Relations.

The delegation was
received by Le Hong Anh, Politburo member and Standing member of the
Secretariat of the CPV Central Committee and worked with the National
Assembly Committee for External Affairs and the Communist Review.-VNA
