Vietnamese Party and State senior leaders showed their deep appreciation
for the late President Ho Chi Minh’s great contributions to the
nation’s revolutionary cause whilst paying their respects to him at his
mausoleum in Hanoi on September 2 on the occasion of National Day.

The delegation included Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong,
National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung, former Party General
Secretaries Le Kha Phieu and Nong Duc Manh, and former NA Chairman
Nguyen Van An, amongst others.

The delegation
then laid wreaths at the Memorial for Heroic Martyrs to commemorate
those who sacrificed their lives during the country’s struggle for
independence.

On the same day, a delegation
comprising the Party Central Committee’s Military Commission; the
Ministries of Defence, Public Security and Foreign Affairs; and the
Hanoi Party Committee also paid their respects and laid down flowers at
the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and Memorial of Heroic Martyrs.

On the occasion, Party General Secretary Trong visited House No. 67
at the President Ho Chi Minh relic site, where the great leader passed
away 45 years ago to the day.

Speaking with the
relic’s staff, he expressed his joy over the increasing number of
foreign and domestic visitors to the relic site, amounting to 1.5
million guests in the first half of 2014.

On the
occasion of the National Day, the relic site has welcomed about 30,000
visitors, including nearly 4,000 foreigners.-VNA
