The RoK-invested Doosan Heavy Industries Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Doosan
Vina) will provide a supercritical boiler for a coal-fueled
thermoelectric power plant in India under a 50 million USD contract
signed recently.

Doosan Visa General Director Ryu
Hang-ha said on March 20 that the boiler, the supercritical one through
type, has a capacity of 800MW and is able to provide 2,550 tonnes of
steam per hour. It will be installed at the Lara thermoelectric power
plant in India’s central state of Chhattisgarh.

The contract again demonstrates the strong development of Doosan Vina
and competence of Vietnamese workers in producing high-quality products
for export, he said.

Ryu Hang-ha said he believes
that his company will make contributions to the localisation of
mechanical products in Vietnam, including equipment for thermo power
plants and oil refineries as well as lifting devices.

Doosan Vina has to date provided two boilers with a capacity of 600 MW
each to the Raipur power plant in Chhattisgarh state.

At present, the company is producing two 800 MW boilers for India’s Kudgi thermo power plant.

Earlier, it provided two boilers for Mong Duong 2 thermal power plant in northeastern Quang Ninh province.

The company has also exported made-in-Vietnam boilers to Brazil, Arab Saudi and Egypt.-VNA
