Myanmar’s Lower House has approved a proposal to establish a committee
and boards to review the Constitution, according to Myanmar ’s media.
Aye Myint, an MP of the ruling Union Solidarity and
Development Party said at the parliament’s primary session on March that
the Constitution needs to be reviewed in order to be in harmony with
the increasing pace of political reforms in the country.
Shwe
Mann, Lower House Speaker, said that a committee to review the
Constitution should be formed to reflect the domestic and international
current situations and improve the people’s confidence.
Myanmar’s Constitution was adopted with a nationwide referendum in 2008.-VNA
