VietNamNet Bridge – Adrian Tan will conduct the Saigon Philharmonic Orchestra at 8 p.m. on March 22 at the Concert Hall of HCMC Conservatory of Music.
The night will feature ageless pieces of Tchaikovsky, Quang Hai and dan tranh (16-chord zither) soloist Hai Phuong’s performance.
Singaporean Tan earned an MBA for music at Sydney Conservatorium of Music under instruction of artist Imre Pallo. In 2010, he was invited to work for Choir Master of Willoughby Choir in Sydney. He was music director of the Singaporean Flute Orchestra and Braddell Heights Symphony Orchestra and now is the director of the Saigon Philharmonic Orchestra.
Phuong has studied dan tranh since she was seven and has won many local awards. She is now a professor at the conservatory.
Tickets are priced from VND300,000-VND600,000 and are available at the conservatory at 112 Nguyen Du Street in District 1.
