Top acts set to electrify HCM City festival

HCM CITY (VNS) — Dutch mixing star Afrojack, rated ninth in DJ magazine’s Top 100 DJs last year, is coming to HCM City’s biggest r electronic dance music festival on Saturday.
At the Future Now event, he will be joined by US band Far East Movement and many others.
Afrojack was featured on famous rapper Pitbull’s No 1 hit single Give Me Everything and RB star Beyonce’s single Run The World (Girls).
His latest single The Spark has hit No 3 in Australia and New Zealand and the top 10 in seven more countries.
Last year, he was the seventh highest-earning DJ in the world according to Forbes Magazine.
He created a phenomenon by playing Take Over Control, Ten Feet Tall, and Keep Our Love Alive at the 2014 Ultra Music Festival in Miami.
These songs will also feature in his new album this year.
Also invited to the event are well-known Ha Noi and HCM City DJs Mike Hao, Duy Duy, Looze Khuong, Briant Vo, and the couple SlimV Nimbia and pop star Thu Minh.
Far East Movement is expected to singing its hit songs Like a G6, Lovetron, The Illest, and Live My Life, which is one of the band’s most popular works and features pop superstar Justin Bieber.
The band comprises Kevin Nishimura, James Roh, Jae Choung, and DJ Virman.
“A couple of years ago a disc jockey was something new in Viet Nam,” said Tran Huy Hung, a Ha Noi fan who will take a flight to attend the festival.
“But now they are becoming commonplace among youth. I will go to Future Now festival to see emerging mixmasters and their creative mixing.
“It would be great some day if Viet Nam’s DJs could find success at home and in other countries, and with the turntable talents I’ve heard, that day should not be too far off.”
Hung hoped the event will become one great party of lights and music. About 10,000 fans are expected to turn up, according to organiser Pose Event.
It is scheduled for Saturday at the Saigon Exhibition and Fair Centre, 799 Nguyen Van Linh Street, District 7.
