HÀ NỘI — A commercial entitled Why not Vietnam? that aims to stimulate tourism demand in the post-pandemic period has been screened on CNN Asia from October 15.
The advertisement resulted from the co-operation between the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) and the American TV channel.
Speaking at a recent press conference, Nguyễn Lê Phúc, the deputy director of the VNAT said that the COVID-19 pandemic had caused many unprecedented halts to Việt Nam’s tourism and tourism recovery after the pandemic is a big concern.
“Why not Vietnam? features many evocative images of a beautiful Việt Nam with diverse natural and cultural heritages, classy resorts and excellent cuisine,” he said.
According to Đinh Ngọc Đức, the director of Tourism Market Department under the VNAT, the promotional clip is being aired now as tourism has been interrupted for too long and the demand for tourism has gradually resumed.
The director added that the advert will run on CNN Asia from October 15 until the end of November.
“The VNAT plans to carry out a campaign to promote tourism in the post-pandemic period with a digital marketing method that is both economical and highly effective,” he added.
“The story of how Vietnamese came together to fight the virus and support each other is one that we want to share with our friends overseas,” said Đức.
“Through the Why Not Vietnam? campaign we will put forward suitable tourism experiences for travellers looking to escape and unwind after COVID-19 passes, and emphasise Việt Nam as a safe destination within the region.”
According to a report of the VNAT, three weeks after the launch of the programme to stimulate domestic tourism in the last months of 2020, many localities and businesses nationwide have responded actively and obtained positive initial results.
Activities to promote domestic demand stimulus will continue to be implemented by the VNAT in the fourth quarter of 2020 and the first quarter of 2021. — VNS
