Part of the Vietnamese – European Knowledge and Technology Transfer Education Consortium (VETEC), the project aims to help universities in Vietnam improve their ability to use digital technology and establish a technology transfer network between Vietnam and Europe.

It has been carried out at the Ha Noi University of Science and Technology, Hue University and Can Tho University from September 2016 in partnership with three universities from Belgium, Germany and Portugal.

Some 30 professors and staff at these Vietnamese universities have received technological training from their European partners over the past two years, Dr Hoang Minh Son, principal of Ha Noi University of Science and Technology, said at a project review conference in Hanoi yesterday.

“They have become aware of a number of technology transfer models and are able to identify the advantages and disadvantages of applying these models at their respective universities,” he said.

The project is expected to end in September.

The total implementation cost of US$800,000 has been covered by the European Union.
