Formed in 2004, the five-member band has performed a wide range of genres, from international evergreens to Finnish pop music and their own compositions.
JariTaika have participated in several light music competitions in Finland, including the Entertainer 2007, where they were semi-finalists.
In 2011 they competed in the New Music competition, which aimed to select a Finnish representative for the 2012 Eurovision song contest in Azerbaijan. Although the band did not represent Finland in Baku, they were among the 12 best competitors and impressed judges with their self-penned songs.
During their Viet Nam tour, the band will make their debut performance in Hai Phong port city’s Opera House next Monday.
One day later, the band will give a concert on the Octagonal Stage in Ly Thai To Park by Hoan Kiem Lake in Ha Noi from 8pm.
Other concerts in the capital city will take place at the Workers Theatre on October 23 at 8pm, and at the Metropole Hotel on October 25 at 9pm.
The concerts are part of the jubilee year programme for the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Finland and Viet Nam in 2013.
