VietNamNet Bridge – The German Business Association (GBA) co-hosts and celebrates Germany’s largest cultural event in the two cities of HCMC and Hanoi in October – Oktoberfest.
More than 14,000 visitors are expected to participate in HCMC and 3,000 visitors in Hanoi, which makes German Oktoberfest in Hanoi and HCMC not only the largest German cultural events in Vietnam, but also across Southeast Asia.
German Oktoberfest 2013 in town takes place at Windsor Plaza Hotel from October 11-12 and October 15-19.
The event, under the patronage of the German Embassy in Hanoi and the German Consulate General in HCMC, is already ranked among the top 10 Oktoberfest events outside of Munich according to Reuters News Agency.
“We are proud that the Oktoberfest events in Vietnam are so popular amongst Vietnamese and the entire foreign community in Vietnam, which is a cultural bridge bringing people together,” states Elmar Dutt, chairman of GBA.
The events in both big cities create an atmosphere similar to that found in the massive beer halls of the original Oktoberfest in Munich, complete with German cuisine, imported German brews and a party mood with authentic Bavarian music from Munich’s Gaudiblosn.
Last year, the event attracted more than 14,000 visitors with a peak of over 2,000 participants on each day of the event.
Oktoberfest 2013 in Hanoi takes place at Cung Xuan Event Center from October 24-25.
