Vientiane (VNA) – The National Assembly (NA) of Vietnam will closely coordinate with the
Vietnamese Government and the Lao counterparts to successfully carry out the
Lao NA House project whose construction began in Vientiane on November 1, said
a top legislator.
NA Chairwoman Nguyen
Thi Kim Ngan made the promise while paying a courtesy visit to General
Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) and State President Bounnhang
Volachith.
Ngan has been in Laos
to attend the ground-breaking ceremony of the Lao NA House, which is a gift donated
by the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), State and people to the neighbouring
country.
She noted with joy the fruitful
development of the special relationship and comprehensive cooperation between
the two countries, especially the success of the meeting between the two
Politburos in January 2017 and the 39th meeting of the Vietnam-Laos
Inter-Governmental Committee in February 2017, and the exchange of visits by senior
leaders.
Vietnam is actively
preparing for the upcoming visit by comrade Bounnhang Volachith to attend
activities wrapping up the Vietnam-Laos Solidarity and Friendship Year 2017,
she said.
The Vietnamese
legislature will also join hands with its Lao counterpart to encourage relevant
agencies to deploy agreements reached by senior leaders of the two countries and
outcomes of the two aforementioned meetings, while preparing for the next
meetings of the Politburos and the Inter-Governmental Committee in 2018, the
top legislator said.
The legislatures will also
step up cooperation and exchange legislative experiences, and team up with concerned
agencies to increase supervision over joint projects in order to expand and
raise efficiency of cooperation, particularly in economy, trade and investment.
Ngan called on Laos to
create the best possible conditions for overseas Vietnamese to work and study in Laos, consider reducing
fees for procedures and services, and taxes for Vietnamese, and employ more
Vietnamese labourers in Vietnamese-invested or joint projects.
For his part, Volachith
thanked Vietnam’s great support to Laos during the country’s past struggle for
national liberation as well as the present cause of national construction and
development.
He spoke highly the valuable
assistance of the Vietnamese Party, State and people to Laos in constructing
the Lao NA House, a symbol of the traditional friendship, special solidarity
and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, Governments,
legislatures and people.
Later the same day, Ngan and her entourage left
Laos, successfully concluded her visit to the country to attend the
ground-breaking ceremony of the Lao NA House.-VNA
